Choice Blog

This week, for my choice blog, i think i have decided to write about a topic that is quite interesting. Many will be shocked about the topic i have chosen to write about. It has been a huge debate for many centuries. Some say that its right, and some say it's wrong. The fact of the matter is, it's important, no matter how you look at it. So important, that i have decided that it is worth taking up my time and writing a 300 word blog about it (which is kind of a big deal). Some of you may never look at me the same way after you read this blog about the topic i have chosen to write about. Why it creates such a controversy will always be a mystery. This topic has been around since the beginning of time and has even been known to create wars throughout many 3rd world countries. I have put a lot of time and thought into this blog topic, and i think that i have formed a very strong opinion on it. I think i may even be able to persuade some of you who disagree with my side of the argument. I would like to apologize in advance to anyone that may be offended by this topic, but to be fair, we're all mature here, and i think that this is something that we can all talk about like mature adults. I am now going to reveal this topic that I have been holding everyone in suspense with. I will warn you one last time that this blog may be the single most important thing in the history of the human race, so prepare to have your mind blown…..Unfortunately, this blog is now long enough to meet the required 300 words, so I will not be able to discuss the topic with you all, even though it’s very important. Sorry.

Social Networking

I am ashamed to say i have a facebook. I'm even more ashamed to say that i check it on a regular basis. I signed up on the website one day a long time ago when i was really bored. Since then, i have added over 400 friends and i still ask myself why sometimes. I almost deleted my account once, but then i realized that facebook is actually a really good way to stay in touch with friends that have either graduated or live in a diffrent town or maybe even a diffrent state. It's also good for a quick laugh or two. Some of the funniest arguments i have ever seen have taken place on facebook. I also think it's a great way for lesser known bands to reach out to potential fans. I have found a few bands, simply because of facebook. A good example of this is a band called full service. I saw them once at the town ballroom and i really liked them, so i bought one of their cds. Later, i went home and "Liked" them on facebook. Because of that, i chat with them on a fairly regular basis, Matt Rebmann and I have joined their street team, and they're even coming to alden to put on a show for us. I think that facebook is a good tool, but can be abused. No one wants to see pictures of you and your bro's gettin your swell on at the gym, so don't post them. Also, don't use facebook to say how depressed you are because you and your boyfriend/girlfriend of 2 months broke up. You're making yourself look 10x More pathetic when posting all that crap to the public. Overall, i think that the world would be way diffrent without facebook and we wouldn't have a college drop-out who has over a billion dollars because of a website.

Super Bowl

Ahh, the super bowl. The best day in all of sports (the draft of course being a close second). I love the super bowl. It's the two top teams in the nfl going head to head in the battle for the coveted lombardi trophy. Sounds great, right? Wrong. It used to be a great day for me, but unfortuneatly, i will be stuck at carbones pizzaria for the second year in a row. Super Bowl Sunday is a huge day at carbones, some say that it's the hardest day to work. Tony calls in the carbones all-star team, consisting of Mark Bemish, Chad Frobel and Dallas Champagne. It's been a rough year for the team, as we have lost a huge piece of the team when Sal Auguliaro left carbones. Last year, I got out around 7:30, so i got to see alot of the game. Unfortunaly, this year i will be there until at least 9. It's not really that bad i guess, Tony has the game on in the back so we can watch it. The part that sucks is the rush. We get slammed with sheet zza after sheet zza. This goes on from about 4 o'clock until the game starts. It's awful. Seriously, it's bad. If you're gonna order pizza, don't make it some crazy order. Keep in mind it's like 1000 degrees in there when the fans are off (which i'm sure they will be). Last year, i can honestly say we made over 100 sheet pizzas alone. Lets not forget about larges and mediums. Luckly, the all star team takes control. Mark is a champion at everything he does, that includes ovens, so he watches those. Chad has been there since i was in like fourth grade, so he's the play caller. He tells us what to do pretty much. Dallas is just Dallas and is there to make us laugh and that encourages us to work. He can dress a pizza really fast too. So that's my super bowl sunday. Sucks, Right?

Brian Stoldt

This is my response to Brian Stoldt’s recent blog postings. He has told a few stories which I do not know if I can believe all of it. I have a few problems with the blog. First off, in one blog, Brian accuses Ty of calling Brian fat. Tyler Stoldt is a caring person, and would never call anyone, especially his younger brother “fat”. Second, there is one occasion where Brian says that Tyler hits him, and then tells him not to tell his parents. I have a few problems with this accusation. One, as I mentioned earlier, Tyler is a caring individual and wouldn’t do such a thing to Brian. And two, if he were to strike Brian, he would confess to it because he is an honest person. In fact, there is a story that Ty once cut down a cherry tree, and then told his father because he could not tell a lie. That of course is just an urban legend, but it just goes to show that he is an honest person.  Brian, you know I love ya, but you gotta stop making up these lies about your brother. However, I am also writing to defend Brian today. I also read a blog about an unfair advisement teacher who grounded Brian from leaving in advisement. I think that this is a little extreme. I think that a warning should have been issued before he was grounded.  Brian is a freshman, who clearly didn’t hear that rule as he was not allowed in the cafeteria.  All he wanted was a bagel. Brian is simply going to the cafeteria, getting a bagel and coming back to advisement. It’s not like he was causing some sort of ruckus in the hallway. Hopefully, after reading this blog, you will realize that Brian is a good kid and should be un-grounded.

2011

2011. What will happen in this year? Many things. First off, I’ll be graduating high school and that’s kinda cool. I have recently decided that I am not attending college which I think is really stupid of myself but to be quite honest, I don’t have the ambition to go to class everyday on my own. I think that it would be foolish of me to take out a large loan, and then have to pay it back without receiving anything out of the whole thing. It sucks cause I already paid to apply to college, but because I never took an SAT or ACT, colleges have not reviewed my applications. Whatever I guess.  I’m sure that I’ll catch some sort of break someday. People go to college to make money so they can be happy, but I can be happy without money in my life. I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do for my career, but I’ll find something. I think that 2011 will also bring a little bit of sadness, knowing that I won’t see a lot of my friends ever again. I even won’t see a lot of my close friends as often because they’ll be at college and I’ll be in carbones making pizza and such. It’s gonna be weird now that I think about it, knowing that next year I’ll be out of this school. It’s weird to think that someone else is going to have my locker, that I have had the past 4 years. Someone else will be hanging out at the heater before classes. Someone else is going to be in my advisement. It’s a lot to think about. Hopefully my life doesn’t change too much, cause I kinda like the way it is now. But whatever 2011 has in store for me, I’ll be ready for it.

2010

2010 was a pretty excellent year for me. There is so much to reflect upon. There were a few negatives though. None of my favorite sports teams made the playoffs and I was stuck working all summer.  I think the highlight of my summer was probably the night the trifecta hung out at matt’s house. It was a crazy night. It started off with Matt, Zach and I hanging out in Matt’s basement. Zach and I were playing darts, as usual. And also as usual, Matt was yelling at us to stop playing darts, mostly because of the holes we make in his wall. Things really got great around midnight. We were hanging out, and decided to go outside. We walked onto Matt’s porch and noticed all of the scenery in his back yard and how awesome it looked. Mr. and Mrs. Rebmann had company earlier, so there was a bonfire outside. We decided to go hang out by the bonfire. That’s when the night really began. We all just hung out around the bonfire all night, just talking. It was a lot of fun honestly though. There was just something about that night that made it fun.  We liked his pool, so we tried to take it by the fire. Unfortunately, I can’t lift everything, especially a large pool filled with water. At one point, we heard a train and discussed what it would be like if we just hopped on a train, and rode it to where ever it was going. We then realized that that was a terrible idea, so we didn’t do it. We then decided we would stay up all night. We were on his porch and drinking dr. pepper when we heard the door open. It was Mrs. Rebmann who told us to go to bed. And that was okay with me cause I had been ready to go to bed for like an hour.

Chill Will

This one time I went to see Sublime with Rome with Matt, Matt’s sister, Kelsey, Zach Rogers, Mark Wesolowski and some girl who I had never seen before. We met up with Ty Williamson, Cam and Kyle Gordon, Adam Strasser and Gavin Laben. The concert obviously ruled. However, the craziness continued after. We were all hungry and thirsty, so we walked to some really sketchy gas station. It was pretty nice, but seriously, the area of Rochester we were in was sketchy. So sketchy, that there was a cop inside the gas station. On our way there, there was a group of men on bicycles screaming at each other in the street…..sketchy. We got to the gas station and I got some trail mix and a kool aid slushy. After we purchased everything, we sat down outside the building. We encountered a man who was EXTREMELY sketchy. The conversation went like this:

“Hey ya’ll got any cash?”
Kyle: ”Nah man sorry”
“Oh… (points to random car that he had been eyeing up the whole time) this yo car?”
“…no”
“oh…where yo car at?”
“its way down there man”
“oh….wanna take me…just down the road? To the club? The main street bar? Have a couple beers?”
“we can’t, we gotta get home”
“you sure? Do some clubbin’? Elks Lounge (Note The Change in location) Have a few beers?”
“nah ma-(interrupted)
“OH THAT’S MY BOY!”
He ran to one of the men arguing and yelling in the streets. Sketchy. We thought that before any other sketchy person approached us, we’d go back to the car. However, on the walk back, we heard a bike coming up behind us. The person on the bike told us to look out, then called us something that to this day, I’m not sure if I should take offence to. He then stopped and introduced himself as “Chill Will, the comedy master”. He then began to tell us a few jokes…none of which I will share, as they are all quite racist. He then said goodbye to us and that’s the last we ever saw of chill will. Hopefully, someday I will return to the main street armory, and we will some day meet with chill will again.
